Mario Giribaldi Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC
Mario Giribaldi Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC
From the sun-drenched “Conca d’Oro” vineyards in Montelupo Albese, Piemonte, this Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC is the expression of Giribaldi’s dedication to terroir. Planted at 480 meters on marl-limestone soils, the vineyard spans 1.68 hectares and is cultivated exclusively with Nebbiolo (Lancia and Michet clones) using the Guyot system, at 5,300 plants per hectare. Vinification is traditional, with 16 days of maceration at 28°C, regular pumping over and punching down, followed by a 40-day rest in steel and 15 months aging in barriques (225–500 L), then refined in bottle for at least six months.
The 2020 vintage presents an intense ruby color with orange reflections, offering a winey, elegant nose of rose, raspberry, vanilla, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is dry, full, and harmonious, with round, youthful tannins, hints of red fruit jam and cinnamon, and a persistent, well-balanced finish.
This Nebbiolo is ideal with red meats, game, braised dishes, bagna cauda, and mature cheeses. Serve at 18–20°C.
