Mario Giribaldi Barbaresco DOCG Cottà
Mario Giribaldi Barbaresco DOCG Cottà
From the prestigious Cottà cru in Neive, Piemonte, this Barbaresco DOCG is crafted from Nebbiolo (Michet clone) grown on south-facing marl-limestone soils at 350 meters above sea level. The vineyards are planted with 5,100 vines per hectare and trained in the Guyot system. Traditional vinification lasts twelve days with daily pumping over and punching down at 30°C, followed by six months in steel and over two years of maturation in oak barrels, finishing with careful bottle refinement.
The 2022 vintage displays a medium-intensity ruby-red color with garnet reflections. The nose is floral and elegant, with wild rose, raspberry, and cinnamon, while the palate is dry, balanced, and tannic, revealing layers of vanilla, leather, tobacco, and green tea leaves.
This Barbaresco pairs beautifully with rich red meats, aged cheeses, or can be enjoyed as a contemplative meditation wine. Serve at 18–20°C.
