Introducing La Magnolia Winery: Discover the Heart of Friuli
Share
At Dunstan Vintner, we're always searching for producers whose wines tell an authentic story of place, family, and passion. This season, we're delighted to welcome La Magnolia, a boutique family-owned winery from Italy's celebrated Colli Orientali del Friuli, to our growing portfolio.
A Family Legacy in the Hills of Friuli

La Magnolia is more than a winery. It is the continuation of a family's lifelong devotion to the vineyards of Friuli. The story began in the 1960s when the Cozzarolo family first planted vines on these rolling hills. Today, owner Cristina Cozzarolo proudly carries that legacy forward, preserving the vision shared with her late brother, Claudio, whose passion continues to inspire the estate's most iconic wines.
Every bottle reflects the philosophy of Questo Friuli, "This Friuli," a heartfelt tribute to the land, its traditions, and the generations who have nurtured it.
The Magic of Ponca

The secret behind La Magnolia's distinctive style lies beneath the vines.
The vineyards are rooted in Ponca, the famous marl and sandstone soils unique to the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Rich in minerals and naturally well-drained, these soils encourage deep root growth, allowing the vines to produce grapes with exceptional concentration while retaining freshness and vibrant acidity.
The result is a collection of wines defined by elegance, precision, layered complexity, and the unmistakable minerality that has made Friuli one of Italy's most respected white wine regions.
Wines That Celebrate Friuli

|
Ribolla Gialla 2025Made from 100% Ribolla Gialla, one of Friuli's oldest indigenous grape varieties, this vibrant white captures the freshness that makes the region so distinctive. A short cold skin maceration preserves its delicate aromatics before gentle pressing, cool stainless steel fermentation, and extended lees ageing build additional texture. Bright aromas of green apple, lime, and grapefruit zest lead into a crisp, refreshing palate with lively acidity and remarkable purity. Perfect as an aperitif or alongside seafood, fresh salads, and light Mediterranean dishes. |

Friulano 2025No grape expresses Friuli quite like Friulano. Through gentle cold skin maceration, cool fermentation, and extended lees ageing with regular bâtonnage, La Magnolia crafts a wine of impressive depth and elegance. Aromas of apple, wildflowers, dried hay, and almonds are complemented by a refined mineral character, while the palate is textured, balanced, and finishes long with a warm almond note that is characteristic of the variety. An ideal partner for cured meats, roasted poultry, creamy risottos, and mature cheeses. |

UBI QUE 2023Crafted from 35% Ribolla Gialla, 30% Friulano, 30% Malvasia, and 5% Picolit, UBIQUE, meaning "Everywhere," brings together the finest expressions of Friuli's native white varieties into one beautifully harmonious blend. Layers of pear, almond, white flowers, citrus, mint, hawthorn, and delicate honey unfold gracefully across a refined mineral backbone. Complex yet effortlessly elegant, UBIQUE showcases the versatility and sophistication of Friuli's indigenous grapes. A wine equally suited to special occasions or simply slowing down to appreciate every glass. |

UBI ES 2021A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Schioppettino, UBI ES, meaning "Where are you?", was first created in 2003 as a heartfelt tribute to Claudio Cozzarolo. Aged in oak, this noble red reveals rich aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, ripe dark fruit, and sweet spice. Full-bodied with polished tannins and impressive structure, it finishes long and gracefully, leaving a lasting impression worthy of the memory it honours. It is a wine that speaks not only of Friuli's exceptional terroir, but also of family, remembrance, and enduring passion. |
